Is it ok for hubby to have a seperate diaper bag?

Question by »-(¯`v´¯)-» мaяк's ωifee: Is it ok for hubby to have a seperate diaper bag?
There are 3 diaper bags that I'm debating on .. I want a brown/pink Juicy Couture bag .. or a brown Coach bag ... or a grey/black Dooney and Bourke bag .. but they are ALL girly. They look like super over-sized purses.
Hubby will not carry that around.
He wants the simple Eddie Bauer one that looks like a breifcase!
Is it ok if we each have our own diaper bags? since I'm going to be the one mostly taking the baby places alone .. usually, if he goes with baby .. I'll be there with the cute diaper bag :)
thanks!

I think that would be fine since you'll probably have him on different days and it might be tough sharing one since you might only know that something needs refilled and he might not, than forget to check and be out somewhere and need something that's not in there. But, I have one question....I know you're having a baby boy...don't you want a diaper bag that looks geared for a boy?

What do you think? Answer below!

There's no law against having more than one diaper bag! You're free to have one for your husband as well, esp. since he's afraid of being too girly. My fiance feels the same way and has been pressuring me to buy him a plain black bag. I think they came up with those plain bags because of men like ours! Good luck and congrats!

We're going to have two diaper bags. One cute and sylish for me, and one more "manly" for him. So go ahead and get two!

Definately... I have a friend who wants a Verra Bradley diaper bag, and her husband is soooo into camo. I work for a monogram store and we are making him a camo "man bag". I think this is totally ok, and lots of people are doing this. Good luck

Why wouldn' t it be OK? There are no rules that say a Daddy can't have his own diaper bag for when he has the little one. I say good for him that he wants one.

yeah why not,a dipper bags just that a bag that carries dippers. it doesn t matter what it looks like. if it makes him happy to carry a breifcasy one than there you go. problem solved

More than one is a good idea for convenience sake, but he really ought to suck it up and realize the bag doesn't reflect on HIM it's for the baby.

Sure you can each have a diaper bag! My husband and I are going to share one, so we made sure to not pick anything too girly.

I always chose a diaper bag to match the gender of the baby

You can have two dipper bags if you really want to... what you can do is get the bag that you want and then when you go to the hospital they will give you this small black dipper bag... If by any chance he needs to go ou with the baby alone he can always take that one instead of your cute girlie one...Hope that helps... Congrats on the new addition....Warm and Happy wishes....

I think it is a great idea for him to have his own diaper bag. I found the best one on Ebay. It looks like a hiking backpack. If he feels comfortable with the diaper bag, then maybe he can take the child for a few hours and get you some rest, because you are going to need it. Also, it isn't a bad idea for him to carry it in his car with a few diapers in it incase of emergency. Below I listed two different ones on Ebay, but I know you can find them at Babies R Us too

I got hubby his own "daddy bag." It makes him feel more involved, even though he'll rarely use it as he'll almost never take her out alone. I figure if he wants to carry diapers around and help out, there's no way I'm discouraging that!

Why WOULDNT it be okay? I was actually thinking about this myself, just becuase I KNOW if the hubby packed his own diaper bag that he'd forget stuff. If the hubby is going to use his less often, you can keep it packed with useful stuff so all he does is grab it.

of course you can have two different diaper bags.

  • applecrisp says:
Just buy a backpack and you both can use that.

I let him keep our son one day , I came home, he was soaked and dirty with a red butt...........crying in his crib...and the ex was watching TV. Never again..... SO way to go on getting some help..... If he wants his own anything Id say let him have it....
