While these are thin, they definitely are *not* the same as using tissue. They are long enough that you can fold them if you need more thickness. Tissue will disintegrate when wet, so please do not heed the previous reviewer's advice and use tissue instead. ;)
We haven't had a problem with them being too narrow, but your mileage may vary here.
Overall, I've been very pleased with them. They are much softer than the Gerber brand of liners (and being flushable is a huge plus). We've not had any issues with flushing them either (we have a septic system and an older toilet), and they work fine for what we need.
The only thing I would caution is that if you're needing them to protect a cloth diaper from an oil-based cream, you might want to fold it or use two liners, since they are so thin. But this product comes in two rolls, so there are lots of sheets included.

Bummis cloth diaper liners are much softer/flimsier than Imse Vimse. Because of this they do not hold up well for a couple of washings if they have only had pee on them. However, they seem to do just find if rinsed out by hand and can be reused that way a few times if it's worth the little bit of extra time to save on buying more.
In regards to the person making the claim that a tissue from the grocery store will work just as well...Think again. Typical paper towel and tissue products will break down and disintegrate in a diaper under normal wear and usage. My tight wad self has tried that. If you expect a diaper liner to work you are going to have to spend the money to BUY a diaper liner. If softness is what you want I haven't found anything better than Bummis. If multiple uses is desired something like Imse Vimse is a better choice.

My baby is almost 1 year and I bought my first package of liners before she was born when I purchased BumGenius diapers. We never used them at first because milk diapers just get thrown in the wash. But, when she started eating solids ... well, diapers get more fun. :) We started using the liners in the AM when we knew she was going to poop. Works great! Now that she is less predictable, we don't use them at home as much. However, our babysitters (I work M-f) love using the liners so they don't have to deal with messes; they just drop it in the toilet. Good trade-off to make them comfortable using cloth diapers over disposables. Plus, I didn't want something that I had to rinse and wash; I already wash the diapers so what would be the point of having liners at all? Thus, I wanted flushable liners. Very pleased with the ease of use. I split up the rolls so they are in both the baby changing area and in the diaper bag. I'd say they last about 8 months for me (we are not using them constantly). The only negative is that they do get a little scrunched in the middle when being used but still worth the money. I suspect the lack of packaging contributes to a low price.

These are far softer than Kushies or Imse Vimse. Those other ones are like sandpaper. The Bummis work just as well and don't scratch your baby's bottom! Do NOT waste your money on the other brands like I did! These also flush just fine, even in old plumbing like ours from the 1920's! The size is great for toddlers and they have been a huge part of my success in convincing my husband to cloth diaper our kids!

we have been using these for 18 months now and have tried others (kushies, imse vimse) but have come back to these are they work the best for us and are lovely and soft. we use them with the kushies all in one diapers and they fit perfectly. would definitely recommend these.
